Kristen Hutcheson is a Registered Art Therapist, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a passionate advocate for children, youth and families.
For the last 17 years, Kristen has worked with military families, helping them navigate situations involving domestic violence, emotional distress, and significant family conflict. She acts as a supportive guide, helping clients to navigate challenging times through direct intervention and counseling, ensuring that all family members have a safe environment, where they can express their feelings and seek solutions. Whether a family needs counseling, support groups, or treatment programs for dealing with specific issues like substance abuse or mental health challenges, she guides them to the appropriate services. The goal is to make sure every family member receives the support they need to thrive.
Kristen has led several awareness events and activities to shine a light on ways the community can address the issues of child abuse and domestic violence. She believes that the promotion of protective factors is a key intervention strategy that can improve social and emotional well-being in children and families.
Kristen has a Master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy and a Bachelor’s degree in Art Studio. She works as a Family Advocacy Specialist for the US Coast Guard in the Northwest District.
